Football Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
