Gun-wielding individuals have taken the life of an instructor and kidnapped no fewer than 25 pupils in an assault against a girls' secondary school in the northwestern part of Nigeria, authorities have confirmed.
The gang of attackers invaded the public educational institution for female students in the Maga locality within Kebbi State at approximately 04:00 local time on the start of the week, authorities reported.
The assailants "confronted officers on duty in a firefight" before climbing over the boundary wall and seizing the students from their dormitory, according to a statement.
