Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to reinforce its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have begun manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials announced this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Tested in Combat Conditions

The drones utilize a nationally created system called “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated successful “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” the ministry confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of producing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Ukrainian President Plans Diplomatic Trip to Spain

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to confer with lawmakers a day after his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies disclosed. Zelenskyy will convene with representatives from both chambers of parliament throughout his stay, the Spanish statement said.
