The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The influential game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and burst into flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, as reported by.
