Your Ideal Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on the Zodiac Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the community. Starting with the one-by-one reveal of fresh additions before the title's launch, to trainers forming firm opinions on the full roster of new Megas, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? The following is based on a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and enjoy a powerful ally; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Much like a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross, whether in its regular and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. What about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for treats. Several past official descriptions mention their fondness for tasty sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Taurus energy.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this total royalty. You cannot tell me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, providing an constant stream of chatter to anyone who wants to hear. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an whole open area with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its capacity to foresee an opponent's next moves, which seems quite like a people-smart Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for frequently becoming absorbed in their emotions. According to the official info, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to create a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Virgo is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The sign known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly reflected across this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a always surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.
Libra – Mega Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to maintain the peace, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them worry even more about others.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained sentient through pure hatred and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpio adores karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly putting on a performance. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful little jester” is countless. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can imagine.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee disasters ahead of time? That exudes the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to always think they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Aloof element Water Bearer is possibly the non-fire placement that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame typing fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in hatred and converts it into strength.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
